The Malaysian Oil and Gas Supply Consortium and the Service Base were opened in Atyrau.

Malaysian Oil and Gas Supply Consortium and the Service Base includes 4 companies: Hadid Engineering Sdn Bhd, OTI, IFP and AktlekOrleu LLP.

According to Chingiz NABIEV, the General Director of Hadid Engineering Sdn Bhd, the decision to enter Kazakhstan market by the group of Malaysian oil companies was made based on research of the oil and gas sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan made by the world-famous company Deloitte.

- The Malaysian experience is interesting for Kazakhstan because in the 70s of the last century local content in the oil and gas sector was zero, 100% in it were occupied by foreign contractors, but over 20 years they were able to develop local content from 0 to 100%. The Malaysian companies opened their representative office here, but they are not going to import the Malaysian content hereinto. We are looking for Kazakhstani companies that would like to raise the quality of their services to parameters that meet the requirements of the Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Shell. Now the consortium consists of four companies, but we will expand, and when choosing a company to comply with the rule that they are not competitors, but complement each other. Consequently the customers will be able to find a full list of services within one base.
